| The Editing Post! |

Hey all!
She's done! Thank you so much, editors, for all your help!
I've been thinking about the comments in the previous editing post, and here's what I think:
1. Yes, we should stop bugging the editors with PMs, etc. to do their edits because it kills some of the fun. Taken care of- we're going to pull back a bit.
2. I don't like the idea of mandatory editing from members not otherwise included to do so. Halfhearted edits and people not competing because they don't want to edit will hurt the community. That being said, we had more than enough editors this week for everyone to have two, so I'm going to cross my fingers and chaulk it up to a burp in an otherwise perfect track record. That seemed to be to be at least half of what was thought in the editing post comments from last week anyways. Any opposed?
Also- we're working on improving the editing chart. Here's some changes we made:
1. We merged "Tough and Polite" into one category. They're almost indistinguishable anyways. 2. We merged the link to the entry to be edited with the name of the person whose entry will be edited. 3. We got rid of those "X"es and periods and replaced them with text- that might be more compatible with our members who use LJ with screen readers. 4. Edits are now sorted purely alphabetically, instead of organized by how tough they are.
All the mods had a hand in this, but I'd like to especially thank pipisafoat and awkward_ostrich for the fantastic ideas and brainstorming help.
What do you all think? The biggest problem I see so far is with the color of the links. I've never been able to figure out a good solution for that. Any ideas?

I'm looking for an animated gif. I saw it in a community, but couldn't save it because I was on my phone and now I can't find it again.
It's black and white, and has Megan Fox in it. She says "Fuck them" or something similar and the words appear on the macro as well. There may be some other text too, but I don't remember.
Any help would be appreciated.

| UK banking |
[Monday, November 9th 2009] |
I checked my UK bank this morning to see if money had arrived; we have a fair bit to pay back from coming out here and from Macquarie fees, and so I send money regularly. I was surprised to see that they had charged me GBP12.00 for late payment. So I have written a letter of complaint to point out that I transferred money from my current account to the credit card account on the 12th October. It arrived on the 27th October, so took 15 calendar and 11 working days to get from Cambridge to wherever AMEX has its headquarters using the internet banking facility. Very slow, and not the first time that I have had this problem. So my first task of the morning is to write a letter asking for a refund and also for compensation for their error.
I am sure it will work out, and any compensation is welcome. I don't really feel bad, since the bank I use is incredibly inefficient and is now effectively a state-run bank given the way it lost money in the recent financial crisis.
My plans for today are to grade my students' exam papers. I also need to work on my summer school and on the presentation which I will give next week. But first I will post this letter.

| Nintendo 'hasn't committed' to new Zelda for Wii in 2010 |

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/08/nintendo-hasnt-committed-to-new-zelda-for-wii-in-2010/
We all know that home console Zelda games take longer to develop than most small, fledgling nations -- still, we'd secretly hoped that Nintendo would pull a hat trick next year, releasing new Wii installments in the Metroid, Mario and the aforementioned Triforce-centric series. Sadly, a recent quote from Reggie Fils-Aime has made us doubtful that this scenario will be realized -- speaking on GameTrailers TV, Fils-Aime explained that Nintendo hasn't "committed to Zelda for 2010."
So, feel free to keep that hope in your heart that you'll be Ganon-thwarting once more within the next 365 days -- but don't get too upset if it doesn't happen. Much like a college-aged Lothario, Nintendo's remaining non-committal. You might say the company's as free as a bird, darling -- and this bird, you cannot change. Nintendo 'hasn't committed' to new Zelda for Wii in 2010 originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 08 Nov 2009 15:30:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.
